My tummy at almost 10 weeks ❤

Hearing baby’s heartbeat a few days ago and seeing baby move has made this pregnancy all the more real 😍 I watch and listen to the recordings several times a day, so happy!!! ❤❤❤ No migraine today, yay! And my nausea is not as bad as most days. My moms nausea would always subside at 10 weeks pregnancy, maybe it’s the same for me? Would be awesome!

Also: proud to wear my “warrior stripes”. My friend calling them that, instead of stretch marks, and saying I earned them as proof for fighting for my dreams, made them cool to me 🙈 I’ll probably get many more during this pregnancy, but that’s alright ❤

How to be a feminist mom?

That has been a question in my mind recently, as I found out I am pregnant. As I told you in my stories a couple of days ago, we have decided to be open about my pregnancy – even if it means we need to share miscarriage with all the people, too.

Becoming pregnant made me want to read Äitikortti, an essay collection by Anu Silfverberg. It discuss modern motherhood and criticized motherhood myths. There are sharp essays in which Silfverberg points out what is wrong with the parenthood discussions. I do disagree with the author at some points, for example when she claims nursing baby is no job – just work that has to be done. It seems it was impossible even for this conscious author to avoid shaming other moms, but all in all, Silfverberg shares great ideas.

[It really grinds my gears] Ever since announcing our pregnancy. We have been bombarded with questions about the ‘gender’. Yes, we will be finding out the gender, we have all of the other times, nothings different this time around.

Comments like ‘wow, you’ll die if it’s another boy’ or ‘I bet your hoping it’s a girl this time’ just grind my gears.

After three beautiful, healthy boys and two miscarriages, we couldn’t want for anything but another healthy human being, gender doesn’t come into play when we think about this life I am growing inside of me.

We are unbelievably blessed that we have been able to fall pregnant again. It will be amazing if we do have a girl, she will be spoilt rotten, daddies little princess, looked after by three big brothers but if we have a boy, wow, will it be incredible. Four boys, growing up together, their own little tribe, they’ll be inseparable.

It’s fun to hear what people think we may be having, boy or girl. It’s not fun to hear unsolicited advice and uneducated comments, those can be kept to ones self.

I can’t imagine my life without these three BOYS of ours, to think Silas could have been a girl, makes me think of a world without him and I would never want that.

Every baby is a blessing 🙏🏼 no matter its gender.

My brain is scrambled. I am still pregnant 😭😭 ultrasound scan confirmed sac and yolk measuring around 5 weeks. That tiny, tiny flutter has given us hope and I am so, so glad its not ectopic. 💗💗 but am terrified as also seen on the ultrasound was a large mass of blood located between the sac and uterine wall. Which we are considering is causing the bleeding which is now ongoing, again. We genuinely do not know if the pregnancy will continue or not, we have to take it day by day and go back for another scan in 10 days.

We learned a valuable lesson when we went this time around as upcoming parents. We saw a lit of people with snacks, sandwhickes, coolers. It dawned on us that these families knew how to spend. I want to say that the cheapest is a one day stay as little as $150. Attractions are only $10-12 each, if you drive all you’d pay is attraction (gas). If you want a cheap place to eat try Wendy’s & Tim Hortons. We saw most families here & decide to go iur last day. Just a buger can cost you $24.99 at other resturants in the main attraction area. A medium pizza will cost $20 plus tax. Water is $3 a bottle. The best is to get a hotel with ample time that includes breakfast (try groupon) that has heated pool, wifi, jacuzzi, coupons ect for $130 2 nights. Our was low due to the days we went Sun-tue. Winter up until may is way cheaper then summer. The for the passes change. A pass will cost $30 plus tax but inculdes 6 attractions & can be used up to 1yr with the recipt (but ask to make sure). The cheapest with hotel, buffer spending, budgeting, attractions, some eating out for 2 people can be $400. If you do snacks, eating in places like wendys or free breakfast $300. If you accidently got a further hotel Uber is cheaper then taxi ($10-12). If you get there by Go train usually there is a free shuttle bus to niagra. It is a family friendly place but be sure to bring snack or cooked meals in your cooler with an ice pack. It was a lot of fun and can be done at reasonable prices! 😁
