This is a really stressful time for many newly pregnant women, especially those who been trying to conceive for some time, have had miscarriages or gone through IVF treatment. The bottom line is that this virus is so new to us that we don’t know everything about it yet but are guided by what the @midwives_rcm and @rcobsgyn advise for pregnant women. What we do know is that a woman’s immune system in early pregnancy changes to be able to accommodate implantation. It’s incredibly hard for women to self isolate, especially if they’ve got toddlers and like most women who have gone through huge journeys to get where they are they already anxious and looking for every single sign that something is about to go wrong. Social distancing. It’s weird. Even for introvert homeschool moms like myself. We miss our friends. We miss co-op teachers. We miss archery and jiujitsu. We miss going out to eat. We miss going to church. Last night in a virtual bible study (which was awesome!) I did communion from my couch with pizza crust 🤷🏼‍♀️😩🤣⁣

Meet Sarah! Sarah is one of our nurses and she’s been with us for almost 2 years. Homemade pregnancy tests. Do homemade pregnancy tests work? How can I make a homemade pregnancy test? .

So many ladies have been contacting me about pregnancy symptoms because they do not have access to a pregnancy test at the moment. .

A friend of mine is confirmed as 5 weeks pregnant (she has a positive test and a scan from the gynocologist) so I asked her to help me out with putting homemade pregnancy tests to the test. .

We tried out the following tests comparing the results with her urine and my urine: 🤰- Homemade pregnancy test with bleach 🤰- Homemade pregnancy test with sugar
🤰 – Homemade pregnancy test with soap 🤰- Homemade pregnancy test with sugar 🤰- Homemade pregnancy test with baking soda .
The results of the home pregnancy tests were really surprising. Two didn’t work at all, 2 were hard to tell and one test really seemed to work…the baking soda one. .
Of course it’s hard to say if these tests are really 100% reliable. It was definitely interesting to see the results. .
