From glam to frazzled – it doesn’t take long!

Grief is such an unpredictable force. We can be ok one day and the next, we’re really not.

It sometimes feels like we are dragging around a heavy rock that is determined to crush us.

We keep going and don’t say anything, especially if we’re grieving a miscarriage.

Miscarriage is conceived as something unfortunate but not worthy of grief.

But it is.

A miscarriage is more than a loss.
It can trigger so many questions in the aftermath. Who am I now? Why me? Why couldn’t I do it? What is wrong with me?

We can be on a downward spiral really quickly.

It starts with the shock of the loss and ends with self-loathing, self worth in tatters and our identity in shambles.

Miscarriage is more than a loss.
It’s a life-changing event that deserves all the attention and healing that is necessary.

We bought our first baby bedding with watercolor-like moon phases made by @burtsbeesbaby 😍, and a precious elephant “lovey” security blanket. We couldn’t help ourselves! @buybuybaby has all the things! We refrained from getting anything else but have a good list started for a baby registry – ha! . . . Even though we are very much believers in the hand-me-down and reuse world, especially with baby stuff that only gets used handfuls of times. 😉

It was an enjoyable day of spoiling ourselves with a yummy Village Inn breakfast, a tasty Longhorn Steakhouse lunch, and then a Marcus Theatre Bistro dinner while we saw Maleficient; Mistress of Evil! 🖤 Such a good movie 💜 .

Saturday – INCUBUS! 🤘
Our little seedling-tot had their first concert tonight with Incubus (the 20 Years of the Make Yourself Album). This song, “The Warmth” has stayed with me since I was 15 years old. It has healed hurting moments, gotten me through the down days, and helped me find delight in the good days throughout the years; Now, ar 35 years old, it is with me as I “experience the warmth” of what it means to grow a little being and become a mother. 💚 Music has always been like oxygen for me – I cannot live without it. It was such a great night. Solid performance by an incredible band and fun times with friends. We are blessed. Life is good. .
