#IVF update – sensitive.

Today I had my final follow-up visit and ultrasound with the Reproductive Endocrinologist. I am 9 weeks and 1 day pregnant today. I have been so anxious the last few weeks, worrying that the embryo failed inside me and I just didn’t know it yet. I was making myself sick with anxiety. But today went great! My doc did an ultrasound, which showed the little gummy-bear of our embryo (almost a fetus now!) wiggling around. It is the size of a walnut today, and it was moving and swimming while she tried to measure things. Heart rate was 164 bpm. Everything looked perfect, exactly as it is supposed to look, and I am officially discharged from the fertility clinic to my regular OB doctor. I start weaning off the hormonal support next week at 10 weeks, and will be entirely off the progesterone and estrogen supplements by 11 weeks. My first appointment with my OB is scheduled for 12/27!

I felt such relief and joy when seeing the embryo today, moving its little limb buds around, and its cardiac cells flickering in the center. I am so grateful for science and my amazing physicians and nursing team that helped this happen for us. Grateful for sobriety (I am 2 and a half years sober as of 11/30/19), my amazing human body, my husband, my family, and my friends for all your support. .

For those of you who have been following my infertility journey, I will no longer be using “sensitive” tags after today, and this page will have ultrasounds and bump shots, so if you need to mute me, I understand. I really do. ❤️ Sending love to my fellow infertility warriors today.

Oooo, or what if we just cut sandwiches different all the time so the kid never has set expectations?! – Whit laughing at Jess.
– Jess: Let’s try it out, please cut one of my grilled cheese as lines! Let’s see how it goes. – So, Whit (being the best wife and cook) cut Jess’ sandwiches artfully! 😆
Lol, and Jess’ verdict is that the line cutting is better because it is less crust on two pieces! So, maybe our kid will be picky. 🤣

Good morning all!
I had posted this case a while ago.
Young couple, wife with severe pcod. Referred to me, previously she had one cycle of Clomiphene, no response. She was given HMG 150, after which she landed with OHSS.
After one cycle of OCP, Started her stimulation with Letrozole ( for 10 days)and added HMG 75 on day 7/8/9 of menses.
With tailored stimulation, we got a good monofollicular growth and we did an IUI.
Her pregnancy test today morning! 😀
One size fits all does not work everywhere. Tailor made protocols are more beneficial in patients with hormonal problems. With this severe pcod, she did not have very good chances with IUI, but it’s important is to give a fair trial to the patient before we opt for more sophisticated treatments. It is an early pregnancy, let’s all hope for the best! ♥️
