Husband suggested going for even a short walk outside of the confines of the garden etc to see if would help me feel bit better, as had been pretty cooped up, avoiding people etc (not wanting to tell many beyond the parents and very very close friends in risky first trimester…bloody hard when you feel so shit!).

We live in a place where such views are within (actual, for me this means less than 10 mins 😂) walking distance. So off we trotted.
.
It didn’t make me feel less nauseous and initially I was just in a bit of a huff…but then after a while we stopped (my request) and found a spot we could lie down (ahhh lying flat…what a distant memory…but I will try not to ruin this story with spoilers…) at and gaze up at the fluffy clouds. That was really nice, despite all the tiredness and nausea. We were able to talk a bit about mushy things like feelings on the impending ginormous responsibility… but, actually in the moment and together, without device distractions. The togetherness bit makes it a (tiny) bit more bearable 😅

Also, all the colours of everything seemed surreal. Heightened, kind of. Everything around me felt a bit odd. Like I was walking in somebody’s dream or something. I can’t explain it and it’s all faded since. But in those early weeks, that’s something else I experienced. Not sure if I liked it or not. Problem is, it sounds cool, but was associated with the rubbish stuff!

This is my pregnancy test line progression! I created this account and it will stay anonymous for a while. We’re so excited to announce, at least somewhere, that we’re expecting! Today, I’m around 3 weeks and 6 days pregnant and its just already so exciting. By the date of my last period, our estimated due date is June 13th! Our first ultrasound and blood testing and all that good stuff will be on Monday, October 7th. After this post, I will post a bumpdate which is another regular thing I will be doing. If you don’t know what that is, I’m going to be taking a picture of my bump every week at the very beginning of the week, hence posting the 4 week bumpdate in two days! This page won’t be much at first because of it being so early already. But, jump in the car and take the ride with us!

Today I visited my family doctor to discuss the positive pregnancy tests! She completed a test of her own and instantly it came back positive, even before the test could finish. She sent me for bloodwork and provided me a requisition for a 6 week ultrasound. Due to my complications with Kate, she has referred me to my OBGYN, requesting full care as well as sent a referral to my hematologist, who keeps track and maintain my blood levels. She also confirmed the baby’s due date 👶

I am excited to see my HCG levels and will let you know as soon as I find out but today, I’m feeling overwhelmed. Overwhelmed with emotions – happiness, anxiety, joy, and love ✨ All week I have been so focused on staying calm and relaxing as much as I can. Unfortunately, the responsibilities have caught up to me and I am feeling beyond overwhelmed ✨ but I am trying to remember what’s important and have been practicing deep breathing and mediation to get back to a resting state ✨ I am going to do whatever I can to ensure a healthy pregnancy 🤰
