I don’t want your baby. I want mine.

There are 2 things that happen when you have a miscarriage.
.
1. Everybody apologises to you. If you mention it in passing or somebody ‘accidentally talks about pregnancy’ in front of you, they say sorry immediately and recoil from the conversation.
.
2. People assume they can’t tell you about their pregnancy because they don’t want to upset you.
.
The latter is the most difficult to deal with. Some of my best friends have had to say “I’m sorry to upset you but I’m pregnant” or tell my Husband so that he can “break it to me gently”.
.
I have had 4 miscarriages and I will feel those losses for the rest of my life. Those losses have changed me as a person, reshaped my values and taught me how to cope with grief. Not one of those miscarriages has taken away my ability to be overwhelmingly, outrageously, over the moon for you and your pregnancy.
.
If I cry, I am not crying for your pregnancy, I am simply remembering mine. I WANT you to tell me – I want to shed a tear and hug you and tell you how excited I am. I mean it – every single bit of that excitement. But when you DON’T tell me… I feel like I have something to be ashamed of. I feel like in losing my babies I have also lost a sense of the friendship I once had with you and that brings me to tears for a different reason.

I’ve lost babies but I don’t want yours, I’ll happily wait for mine.

Finding out you’re pregnant. Hold up! Shit! Holy moly shitballs! What in the name of god. *Holds up to the light* Hell yeah…. Oh no. What will my partner say!? Yay!! Wait.. how the hell am I going to tell my Dad!? *holds head in hands* Best thing ever! No. What. Wait. Im not ready!! *slaps forehead with hand* It will be..*screams breathe woman breathe* OMG.. and how am I going to afford this *looks at the £1.05 left in the bank account* Is there even two lines!?!? *looks really closely* Let me wait 5 minutes. *paces up and down for 2 seconds feeling sick* Im gonna check it later. No. *picks up the tests and stares at it* I can’t wait and WOW. 2 lines. I only tested as a precaution. *stands with face of shock* HOW. 2 MOTHERFREAKING LINES. *checks packet for results section for the 189937th time* I’m gonna get another 5 tests, I need to be sure. *drinks 3L of water in 5 minutes* It’s official. PREGNANT!!! BOOM. *fistpumps in the air and orders Alexa to play Kelly Clarkson on volume 10* Oh my god….. and the journey begins.

Not gonna lie, low key disappointed we didnt get to see a heartbeat today 🥺 although thats totally normal at this stage, I just love pushing my luck 😄 but SUPER blessed that everything is looking as it should do though 🥰🥳🙌🏽 we are tracking exactly where we should be, baby is in the right place and growth is happening just as expected! My first attempt at tan slice and she was pretty spec-tac if I dont say so myself 😍🤤🥰 we are 6 weeks pregnant in two days (tuesday) !!
