Just a quick update. The spotting seems to have stopped. I’m still afraid, but hopeful that I’ll make it to my appointment Monday morning. For now- I’m still pregnant.
The whole rainbow and storm analogy is really resonating with me right now. If this baby really is my rainbow, it doesn’t mean the storm is over. It won’t be until I’m holding my healthy baby in my arms.
So I’m trying to allow myself to just be here- in this storm. I will go through whatever it takes to have my rainbow.
Thank you everyone who has sent me messages, commented, said a prayer, or even just given me a passing thought. I feel like I have so much support and I’m so thankful.

January is the month a lot of surprises are realised! The month after the ‘party season’ can mean a missed period and that surprise positive pregnancy test! In a moment your life changes!!!

10 Weeks today.
App says baby is as big as a strawberry 🍓
I couldn’t decide if we should take this photo or not since unfortunately I’ve just had some spotting. But I decided to do it anyway because right now, I’m pregnant.
I don’t know if the baby really is as big as a strawberry. They could have stopped growing. I don’t know if I’ll get to take another sweet photo like this next week. Miscarriage steals the joy of pregnancy.
At my ultrasound at 7w3d everything looked great. They did tell me that I had a small subchorionic hemorrhage and I may see some light spotting but I also may not. I chose to believe the latter because I knew even the tiniest hint of blood would send me into a tailspin.
I spoke to a doctor after hours tonight and described exactly what’s going on and she was very reassuring. She told me she honestly thinks that’s what’s causing the bleeding and that baby is fine. But all I can do is wait and see, unless I want to spend my evening in the ER.
We’re also currently experiencing the largest winter storm we’ve had this year so I can only imagine what the ER would be like right now.
I have an appointment Monday morning already. Right now, I’m refusing to accept this as another loss. I’m not giving up yet.
I’ve said all along in this pregnancy that this baby is a fighter and I truly believe that with my whole heart.
So tonight I’ll be drinking tea, watching trash on TV, and trying to override my urge to panic.
Please hang on little one. I want to meet you so badly, but not yet.

A transvaginal scan and two attempts of blood later, my miscarriage is confirmed. I will be back at hospital Sunday for more bloods to check hcg levels are decreasing and to check their is no chance of pregnancy happening out side of the womb (nothing had shown up during transvaginal scan)

This is not my first and probably won’t be my last, unfortunately for some of us it’s just not our time, easier said than done, but honestly we will move on from this.
It’s been 5 days since I started to miscarry this time around and tbh I haven’t struggled much at all(not saying it hasn’t been hard) I just knew from experience what to expect.
my first miscarriage started Dec 1st 2016 5 days of hell.
My rainbow was born 1 year later Dec 1st 2017. That year was an emotional roller coaster but we got our rainbow after a pretty traumatic storm and now it seems we have been dealt the Same card. I’m hoping for an easy and straightforward conception and pregnancy next time around and I’m going to share our journey for anyone else needing advice and guidance.
