Day 66 – 11.17.19
Sunday… Good Day!

We are feeling very happy, in love, and enjoying time together these days. Appreciating all the little moments with each other, our furbabies, our family, and our friends, as well as our “nesting” tendencies. Time seems to be flying by so we are holding onto the bits that go in slow motion.
. ☺
For example, we both woke up early this morning – enjoyed finishing (catching up on) laundry, watching a new show (The Good Doctor, so awesome!), having a tasty breakfast, soaking in the beautiful sunshine (our house is so pretty in the mornings!), furbabies love, and just chatting together. It was slow motion and time was creeping. . But suddenly it was 1pm! And time began to whizz on by – I took a well-needed nap (woke up with lines on my face – cuz I slept so hard), and then we ran errands. It all went so fast, darn it. But it was enjoyable and quality time. 😏
And now I’m unsure I’ll be able to sleep, knowing that tomorrow afternoon is our ObGyn appointment! I hope we get new ultrasound pics and get to hear the heart again. I finished editing our baby announcement photos to post, so our hopes are high that our seedling-tot is healthy as ever inside me. We shall see! All positive vibes!

This was a good day. Husband made bruschetta at home and I love bruschetta anyway annnnnd I was able to properly enjoy this homemade one. I took a photo as because I was nearly on tears at how amazing I found this bruschetta (lots of things tasted different or not quite right in the first half of pregnancy, went off various things altogether etc etc so was very exciting to find something I liked…maybe…even more than I had before?!) 💕

Oh speaking of things that didn’t taste quite right. Water was one of them. Hated it! So I started drinking lots of squash instead to stay hydrated. Including at work. Apparently water tasting different is a common thing, and a senior colleague later told me suspected what was going on when I started drinking the squash, as she had to do the same thing when she was pregnant 😆

Also you will notice we are at 15+3 in this photo and guess what……morning sickness was still around. It doesn’t always magically vanish at the official end of first trimester, folks! (Which is 12 weeks)

8 weeks pregnant today! 🤰🏻 The sickness has FINALLY gone! (for now) and i am so glad! I was feeling sick constantly, especially in the evening as i was lying in bed, and it was getting a bit much!

I am still really sensitive to smells – especially the smell of meat, and cooking meat. But i haven’t been feeling as sick the past few days! 🎉

The pregnancy acne is back – but i believe this is due to my lack of Iron (will he having a blood test next week to confirm lack of iron)

I am just so glad I’m feeling better, and baby is now starting to look more like a baby! 😍👶🏻

2 years ago today Amanda and I found out we were going to have a baby. (Little did we know there’d be 2).

It was such an emotional morning, after 2 failed IVF goes- I was over the moon, but also terrified. .

#IVF update – I am 6w6d pregnant today, after a single frozen embryo transfer of a 5AA PGS-normal embryo. Today was my first ultrasound, which confirmed an intrauterine pregnancy, yolk sac and tiny embryo seen. CRL (crown rump length) was 6.9 mm, which is exactly what it should be on 6w6d. Cardiac activity was flickering away, though I didn’t get the actual rate. (It looked much faster than 100 bpm, which is good.)

I’m officially measuring “further along” than I have ever been before. (My first pregnancy was lost at 8w4d, but it never measured beyond 5w5d due to the trisomy 22 it had.)

I am happy and grateful for science and modern medicine. Next ultrasound is Dec 5th, when I will be 9 weeks 1 day pregnant. If all looks good then, I will be released from my Reproductive Endocrinologist to my regular OB.

Only as big as a fig and already taking up so much space in our lives. I haven’t seen many pictures of early pregnancy sonograms on social media and I think I know the reason. It’s because we’re scared. It’s because we’re superstitious even if we’ve never been before. It’s because we’re afraid that we’re going to have to tell everyone that we’ve lost what we were so excited about. Well i don’t want to be scared anymore. If this tiny little thing is going to be born healthy into his parent’s life, doesn’t depend on me sharing a picture 11 weeks into the pregnancy. So, here it is.
