NEVER, EVER finish your wife’s pregnancy craving! You’ll be in a world of hurt! 😤😠😡🤬
Jane has been craving lemonade soooo bad, when she got home from work, the first thing she did was go to the fridge to grab an ice-cold cup. But it was all gone! Now Joe has booked himself a trip to the grocery store, ASAP!😝
What causes these intense pregnancy cravings? Scientists are not exactly sure, but they think that your brain and taste buds are sending you signals of what your body needs to stay healthy and give your baby the best possible nutrients. Maybe Jane’s need for lemonade was her body needing some vitamin C? Who knows!🍋🍋🍋
Usually, these cravings are completely harmless. Yes, even your weekly craving for a Big Mac is fine! 🍔🍟, your body is probably lacking in salt.
Sometimes though, women have bizarre cravings for non-food items like dirt or laundry detergent and that is a disorder called “pica”.
That can be a dangerous thing because you might eat something that is harmful to you or your baby. Please talk to your health care provider if you are craving non-food items. If this happens to you it can be a sign of a nutritional deficiency, particularly iron, although this disorder is not clearly understood.
If you are craving junk food I think it’s totally OK to give in to that craving every now and again. As long as your overall nutritional intake is good, I believe that pregnancy is a time to let go a little bit and indulge! I know not everyone will agree with me, but I’m in the “everything in moderation” camp.🍩🍔🥗🍕🥑🥯🍒

I had a die-hard need for cottage cheese my last pregnancy and with my first son, I couldn’t get enough Cheerios! 🤗

hCG or human chorionic gonadtrophin is known as the pregnancy hormone. This hormone is produced by the tissues that develop into the placenta as soon as implantation of the embryo occurs. Its other role is to maintain the other levels of hormones that are necessary to help the pregnancy develop. hCG is only detected if a patient is pregnant and will continue to rise as the pregnancy advances. hCG levels will double every 48 hours.
Urinary pregnancy tests are highly sensitive and will detect the presence of hCG approximately two weeks after conception.
We do not routinely test hCG levels via a blood test unless a patient experiences bleeding or pain very early into the pregnancy or if there is difficulty confirming the pregnancy via ultrasound.

The more I look, the more I can’t believe our little bumpette’s development!
.
Going through IVF has certainly improved my science knowledge of reproduction! It’s such a beautiful but terrifying experience! .
My question now is, is it too much to sneak at 16 wk scan in before the 20 wk? .

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
The three main features of PCOS;
-irregular periods– which means your ovaries don’t regularly release eggs (ovulation) -excess androgen – high levels of “male hormones” in your body, which may cause physical signs such as excess facial or body hair (see signs and symptoms below) -polycystic ovaries – your ovaries become enlarged and contain many fluid-filled sacs (follicles) which surround the eggs (it’s important to note that, despite the name, if you have PCOS you don’t actually have cysts)
If you have at least two of these features you may be diagnosed with PCOS.
Polycystic ovaries contain a large number of harmless follicles that are up to 8mm (approximately 0.3in) in size. The follicles are under-developed sacs in which eggs develop. In PCOS, these sacs are often unable to release an egg, which means that ovulation doesn’t take place.
It’s difficult to know exactly how many women have PCOS, but it’s thought to be very common affecting about one in every five women in the UK. More than half of these women don’t have any symptoms.
If you do have signs of symptoms of PCOS, they’ll usually become apparent during your late teens or early twenties.
They can include:
-irregular periods or no periods at all
-difficulty getting pregnant as a result of irregular ovulation or failure to ovulate -excessive hair growth (hirsutism)– usually on the face, chest, back or buttocks -weight gain -thinning hair and hair loss from the head -oily skin or acne
PCOS is also associated with an increased risk of developing health problems in later life, such as type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol levels.

💓Believe and you already half way there.
.
Sounds simple yeh?.
It really can be.
By changing your daily mindset through pregnancy is practicing your energy flow to allow your body and mind to automatically feel safe and connected to your baby through labour and transitioning into birth and the moments after.
Understanding that your mind is⚡POWERFUL!!
Your thoughts are ⚡POWERFUL!
Use them- with the best intentions.
Practise doesn’t always mean the outcome is perfect, practice means that your thought process can go back and relate to what you’ve been working on and see how far you’ve come with a positive belief system that all you need now is to
BELIEVE in yourself and your baby that you are both capable to birth together, however that might be.
