My latest blog post is a subject I am VERY passionate about. Since experiencing a miscarriage almost three years ago, my husband and I have chosen to ignore the social norm of when it’s acceptable to start talking about our pregnancies, and have decided to share the joy of our tiny little babes earlier than most do.

In this post, I outline why I think it’s important to celebrate babies from the very moment we know about them, and why we choose to do so! Please give it a read and feel free to share your own thoughts and experiences! {Link is in my bio}

Is there ever a better excuse than being preggo to eat your way through a pile of pancakes?

Now I’ve got your attention, I wanted to bring up a little trouble I’ve been having this last trimester: round ligament pain.

What is that?
Most women refer to it as cramping, or deep stretching painful sensation in the muscles surrounding your uterus during pregnancy.

Though it’s more common in the second and third trimester, I can tell you from experience it happens in the first!
Round ligament pain happens as the said ligaments stretch and make way for your growing uterus.
There are two round ligaments (amongst many others keeping everything in place) on each side of the uterus.

What can you do when it crops up?

The best remedy is a little rest. This is your body telling you to take it a little easy as your body adapts to pregnancy.

Luckily it doesn’t happen all the time and usually comes and goes pretty quickly but listen to your body!

Heat packs are also great for relieving pain.

Try and get a little prenatal yoga in to help ease the pulling sensations by stretching out the hips and back area.

It shouldn’t last long and if it does get in touch with your medical provider to rule out any other possible preggo symptom.

Did you ever have this?

It’s little moments like this that remind me what we’ve gone through as a family & why I’m trying to achieve with insta. •

For those that don’t know our story here it is. Before we were mummy & daddy to our 3 amazing little bumpkins, we were mummy & daddy to another little soul who unfortunately we didn’t get to take home.
I’m not good at being pregnant! I have suffered with Hyperemesis gravidarum which sucks big time!!! I’ve had it with all of my pregnancies so have spent A LOT of time at my local Early Pregnancy Unit getting extra fluids, scans & support from the amazing staff there. •

I’ve always wanted to give back to the EPU team & never quite knew how to do it & knowing that I wanted 3 little ones, it never quite felt right knowing that I’d be back to get stuck into helping them out. Now I’ve miraculously got my 3 lovely amazing crazy little bumpkins, the time was right! Luckily I knew the Matron of the EPU before I was pregnant & she contacted me & the timing felt right!

We all know that the #nhs is massively strapped for cash & there are cutbacks happening everywhere, especially the non medical support that can be offered so I wanted to help. •

With this in mind, I approached my local trusts fundraising team & it looks as tho we are getting a go ahead to do a fundraising campaign specifically for the EPU unit which will go directly to the unit which means that they can provide the right environment to support mums, grieving parents & remember those babies that are not old enough to be looked after by the maternity unit (which is up to 20w for near me). •

So there you have it! This is why I’m doing insta, why I’m promoting the fundraising & hard work that this amazing team do. So please, if you’ve had any experience of HG, misscarriage, or difficulties through your early pregnancy follow me to keep you updated & to support this amazing team & support other mums who have gone through similar. This is so more common than we realise & it’s not until we talk about it that we can support each other. Remembering the babies that didn’t come home but always in our hearts. 🥰

One year and one day since I told Haim he was going to be a father. I knew a couple of days earlier, but was worried to tell him. I didn’t quite believe the pregnancy test and wanted to do a few more to be sure. I knew how heartbroken he would be of the tests were wrong. My gynaecologist had said that there was a 99.9% chance we wouldn’t be able to get pregnant naturally but we could ‘try anyway’. I wasn’t feeling very so positive pregnancy tests were hard to comprehend! But here we are, a year later with our little blessing. He truely is Dad of the year ⭐️
Hamish said if I ever managed to get pregnant naturally, I had to tell him in a ‘cool way’. No pressure mate. Swipe to see the video of me telling him! Excuse the voices.. we talk to each other like this way too often and have just realised how horrible it sounds 🤢

23.02.2020⠀

I’ve only known myself less than a week and I’m massively struggling to keep it a secret.⠀🤫

We don’t want to tell any friends or family until we have had a scan and know for sure how far gone I am, I guess the reality is because I am still SO early on in the pregnancy the more people I tell now the more people I have to be prepared to tell if I miscarry, and that’s a scary thought.⠀

Thank god I can share my excitement here!! 🤰🏻🤰🏻⠀
