FIRST TRIMESTER 🤰 EXPECTATION VS REALITY // Hands up who can relate to this one? 🙌⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🍝 I want to tell you that it is okay if you're not eating as you expected to in your first trimester or early pregnancy. The first trimester can be tough for many women with constant nausea making it difficult to keep any food down let alone fruit, veggies, dairy and protein foods. Layer on top of that food and smell aversions and it can be a tough time to eat much at all!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ☝️My top tip is to try and keep your prenatal vitamin down as this is your ultimate back up! Take it when you're feeling least nauseous in the day.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✌️My second tip is to use wholegrain carbohydrates which we are often drawn to when nauseous anyway, to ensure you are getting some extra fibre and B vitamins. Plus, in Australia these foods are often a source of folic acid too.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🍞 Try having smaller more frequent snack type meals to keep nausea at bay and keep something next to your bed ready to go in the morning.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💦 Sip fluids, try ginger tea or flat ginger ale to help settle your tummy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👇 I'd love to hear your tips for managing nausea in the first trimester so we can all share and learn from this community!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #morningsickness #morningsicknesstips #pregnancynausea #firsttrimester #firsttrimestertips #firsttrimesterdiet #earlypregnancy #pregnancynutrition #pregnancydiet #pregnancyfood #thedietologist #fertilitydiet #fertilitynutrition #nutritionplusdietitians #sydneyaustralia #digitaldietitian #pregnancyrecipe #prenatalnutrition
