50 yrs. ago, the practice of child marriage was banned in Nepal as it was having the world’s highest rate of child marriage. Many activists for child right warned the underage couples eloping for love marriage and tried to stop such underage marriages. Many case studies stated that girls face house responsibility at a very young age after such decisions and become a mother at a very early age of their life. The time they realize about their wrong decision it becomes too late to be out of it. A case study revealed that pregnancy at a young age lead a girl with uterine prolapse, a painful condition which sees the uterus or womb descend and protrude out of the vagina. As such love marriages and teen romances are unacceptable in rural Nepal thus; these couples run away and get married to legitimize their relationships. Many of them are forced to get married if they become pregnant.
