Can we see it? Yes we can! πŸ“ΊπŸ–₯πŸ“ΊπŸ–₯ Ultrasound is a great tool in early pregnancy, it helps us diagnose any problems in early pregnancy after bleeding or pain. You may have seen some ultrasound scans before and thoughts it’s just a haze of grey. 🌫🌫🌫🌫🌫🌫🌫🌫🌫🌫🌫But at 5 weeks you start to see some foetal structures that help us recognise and confirm a normal pregnancy. The gestation sac is one of the first structures visible. This will be the sac the baby grows in. Then a yolk sac 🍳should be visible within the gestation sac at 5 weeks pregnant. What is a yolk sac? This is a structure that provides nutrition to the pregnancy at this stage before the placenta is fully informed. At the end of 5 weeks approaching 6 weeks pregnant , a small line on the scan is seen and this is the embryo. At 6-7 weeks we start to see a flicker and that represents a heartbeat. At this point we can confirm it’s a normal early pregnancy in the uterus. ..................................................................... βοΈβοΈπŸ‘§πŸ½πŸ‘§πŸΎπŸ‘§πŸΏπŸ‘§πŸΌπŸ‘§πŸ»πŸ‘΅πŸΏπŸ‘΅πŸΎπŸ‘΅πŸ½πŸ‘΅πŸΌπŸ‘΅πŸ»βοΈβοΈ #fertility #eggs #theovarystory #femalehealth #ovary #uterus #knowyourhealth #obgyn #obstetrics #gynaecology #ovariancyst #gynecology #cyst #pelvicpain #fertility #pelvis #selfcare #selfhealth #ultrasound #earlypregnancy #pregnancy #pregnant #miscarriage
